This fund is designed to support former blue light workers and those who are going through resettlement from any emergency, volunteer or blue light service, civil service or armed forces, who are ready to take the next step into business ownership. Whether you're starting out, keeping your business afloat, or expanding your operations, this fund is here to help you turn your skills, dedication, and resilience into a thriving venture.
Please note: This fund is not available to any person who is still actively serving in any of the above roles who is not already in the resettlement process. It is not for those seeking a second income.

Who can apply?
You may be eligible if you
Have left a service role (retired, resigned, or medically discharged).
Are starting a new business, maintaining an existing business, or planning business growth (you must be the sole or majority share holder).
Can demonstrate a clear business plan and how the funding will be used.
What we fund
We can provide financial support for
Start-up costs, equipment, premises, marketing, and initial stock.
Business maintenance, covering essential running costs during challenging times.
Expansion projects - Scaling operations, hiring staff, or launching new products/services.
How to apply
Check your eligibility, ensure you meet the criteria.
Prepare your business plan, outline your goals, budget, and timeline.
Submit your online application, complete the form and submit all documents required to assess your application.
Tip: Strong applications clearly show how the funding will make a measurable difference to your business journey.
What we will not fund
Businesses that operate outside of the UK
Sole traders who are not registered as a business on Companies House
Businesses where you have less than 50% ownership
Investments, stocks and shares
Businesses that are subject to any financial restrictions or open legal matters
Purchasing businesses in liquidation
Purchasing of a business that has been declared bankrupt
Mergers or takeovers
Businesses that operate in Crypto currencies
Businesses with political links
Businesses with links to prescribed groups (as defined by UK law)
Blue Light Sports Foundation reserves the right to refuse any business grant application that cannot provide clear evidence of meeting the eligibility criteria
